Living on Strengths

I’ve taken many personality evaluations but find the StrengthsFinder one is the most beneficial for me to implement and focus on. It’s amazing when you kind of know what your strengths are, but have them affirmed with suggestions on how to optimize them.

We live in a world that tells us we need to overcome our weaknesses, but when we do that it takes time away from developing our strengths. There is balance in all things, of course, but when I focus on the good it energizes me to keep pursuing what I want out of life.

I love this stuff.

My top 5 strengths are:

Connectedness | People who are especially talented in the Connectedness theme have faith in the links between all things. They believe there are few coincidences and that almost every event has a reason.

Relator | People who are especially talented in the Relator theme enjoy close relationships with others. They find deep satisfaction in working hard with friends to achieve a goal.

Individualization | People who are especially talented in the Individualization theme are intrigued with the unique qualities of each person. They have a gift for figuring out how people who are different can work together productively.

Belief | People who are especially talented in the Belief theme have certain core values that are unchanging. Out of these values emerges a defined purpose for their life.

Activator | People who are especially talented in the Activator theme can make things happen by turning thoughts into action. They are often impatient. (Last sentence does not apply to me!)

Think I’m a people person?! 🙂

The above descriptions are from the report generated for me. Uncanny how accurate the rest of the report describes me, based on the few questions it asks.

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do." ~ Jack Kerouac
