Who Am I?

Hey – thanks for stopping by and for sharing a bit of your day with me!

Life is just nuts. At least if you have a heartbeat it should feel that way. I tend to think that accepting the status quo only sets us up for boring, mediocre lives and who the heck wants that?

I’m a bit quirky, people say I laugh too much, I’ve been through hell and survived the trip. I share some of that stuff here to encourage others that even when things suck, there is always a bit of humour to be had, a message to hear or a lesson to learn. Life’s just like that.

As a coach, writer, facilitator and employee relations kind of person, I feel kind of sorry for my kids. They don’t have a hope at living mediocre lives without knowing they are consciously making that choice! On the other hand, I analyze every action I take, every thought I have and obsess over what I ‘should’ be doing differently. Sound like you too? Then find me here twice a week as I write from my heart – experiences, ideas, thoughts, challenges, and hopefully a little more of what we all need – some humour! I’m also Canadian so my spelling may be different than your spelling. Don’t hold it against me, just read anyway.

On the home front I am a single parent with 3 children, we live with a cat named Lucy and a rescue dog named Soda. I love love love the mountains, whitewater rafting and Callebaut chocolate…and I may be a wee bit addicted to caffeine.

Little known facts? I have owned and operated a motorcycle, used to pistol shoot but stopped because I got harassed for beating the guys, and I can operate a sound system. At one point in my life I seem to remember producing and hosting a tv program…my favourite memories include meeting and doing a craft with Mr. Dressup, and holding the Stanley Cup.

Life is a gift, is short, and is to be truly lived. It can be fragile and extremely difficult at times, but how I walk through this thing called life and the choices I make, ultimately determine the outcome of my “About Me” story.

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do." ~ Jack Kerouac
