7 Apples on a Saturday Night | Hope Springs New

7 Apples on a Saturday Night

As many of us celebrate this Easter weekend, there is so much symbolism embodied in it. Whether or not you take part in remembering the death and resurrection of Christ, this weekend is synonymous with renewed hope . Everywhere around us we see life begin again. You can’t fight it, stop it or deny it. Good thing hey? Spring for many depicts a point of change, new beginnings. It sparks life in us, a sense that we are in fact, going to make it. It’s a time to reflect, refresh and renew those parts of us that have become dormant. Hope springs new.

Symbols of Hope in the Spring

Nest Eggs

  1. Pussywillows, the first tulips poking through, bright green grass
  2. Sunny days, warmth, starry nights
  3. The first sighting of a robin, frogs croaking in the pond
  4. Farmers in their fields, getting ready for seeding
  5. Chickies being hatched, lambs being born, bunnies by the galore
  6. Outdoor activities, fresh air
  7. Cheerful voices, happy faces

New life. New beginnings. New hope. Soak it in. Soak it up. Smile at the wonder around you.

You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep spring from coming. ~ Pablo Neruda

Why 7 Apples? Sometimes we just need an extra dose of good.

Oh Shandra, as I look out my window at snow on the ground in April your post gives me hope. I will be thrilled when these little symbols start to peek through around here 🙂

Feels like the longest…winter…ever….doesn’t it?! I saw my first robin on Saturday, sparking my post. Let me know when hope arrives at the Derrickx residence!

"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do." ~ Jack Kerouac
